Srikhon Phum sticky caramel sweet is a product of PrasatDiao Caramel shop, located in Si Khoraphum District, Surin Province. The main raw material used in production is rice from Surin Province and coconuts from the local community. The Si Khoraphum caramel texture is sticky, soft, fragrant and nutty resulted from every meticulous step of the production. The PrasatDiao caramel therefore became a featured product of Surin Province. The highlight of the product is the packaging that is made of rolled banana leaf wrap which strengthens natural scent from banana leaves and also helps to maintain the uniqueness of traditional Thai desserts. Although this banana-wrapped caramel is encouraged to be consumed freshly, it can be stored for about 4 days. The production process includes grating the coconut meat and squeezing it for fresh coconut milk, then boiling and stirring it with rice and other ingredients for 3-4 hours without adding any preservatives. When it turned to be caramel, it is wrapped into two different ways: wrapped in banana leaves and wrapped in plastic wrap.
